I Can Help

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached to the whole world as a testimony to all nations (ethnic groups), and then the end will come” Matthew 24:14

Will YOU partner with us to serve the nations so that together we will be part of God’s strategic plan to add every tribe, tongue and nation to His Kingdome rule?

 Indonesia ReportIndonesia

I recently had the opportunity to attend a strategic meeting which included missionaries, mobilizers, missions pastors and workers from the field who have a burden to reach the unreached of Indonesia. Over 200 where in attendance at this gathering all working together to see a great harvest in this mostly Islamic nation. I was so encouraged by the unity and common desire to see Indonesia reached.

Indonesia is becoming more Islamic every year, and the only solution is the mandate that Jesus gives us to take the gospel to every people group.  Although Islamic radicals are attempting to make Islamic law (Shari'a) the national law, the church is growing and making courageous inroads into some of the most difficult areas. But there are still 127 unreached people groups and 26 of them are not yet engaged. That means that 127 ethnic groups still have no church to go to, no church in their own culture or language, therefore the gospel they hear may be based in foreign concepts and expressions. The 26 unengaged are in the same plight. But they do not even have any missionaries or field workers attempting to bring the gospel to them. For more information go to www.peoplegroups.org.

Would you or your church like to be involved in engaging one of these people groups? Would you like to consider being part of a team effort that will change the history of a nation? I believe our time is very short, and if we wait for others to do what needs to be done, thousands will perish without knowing Christ. If you are interested in knowing more, send me an email, or give me a call and we can talk about how we can see this happen!

What Does Your History Reveal?

[This was posted on Don’s blog a few weeks ago at  http://dondavis.wordpress.com )

I have this hobby of sorts, and that is surfing the web and looking at local church web sites.  Thisbrick church morning while I was being distracted from doing something constructive I ran across a church’s web site and I began to realize that things are not as they seem. What do you call someone who says one thing but does another?
What I am talking about is that every pastor/church leader I know argues the fact that church is not the building, the facility, the property, but it is the people. So true! But, when you go to any church website that has a page or section describing their history, what do we usually read about? We read about their building projects! We read about the bu
ildings they used, where they were and what improvements they have made to those properties. CommunityBut there are no stories about the church (I’m talking about people). Their history gives us no insight into the lives of the saints in that congregation. This holds true as to whether the church is an older historical church, or they have come into existence in the past twenty years. It’s all the same. Their history is all about their “campus,” their architecture or their series of building programs! According to their history, the church is their facility.
Are we confused? Does the church truly see itself as people
country church and not a building? That’s what we are taught to say because it is theologically correct. But ask them about the history of their congregation and see if you hear any stories about those who have met together, laughed together, served together during their long or short history, and see if my research is accurate. If I continually say I believe something, but turn around and do and record something differently – where is my credibility? Maybe that is just another reason why organized religion or organized Christianity has lost so much of its credibility in a world that Jesus loves.
If you were going to write the history of your church – would it be about Jesus and his people, or would you do what others have done and write a narrative about the buildings you have met in?

Progress Report

Some have asked how are we doing since or transition from our former position with AIMS to our new endeavor mobilizing simple churches here in the states and continuing our ministry in Asia. So I thought it would be appropriate to let you know how things are going and whatFunding gauge progress needs to be made in regards to our regular support so that we will be able to continue our ministry.
I have several “irons in the fire” and your partnership with us will enable me to continue with these initiatives. What are they?

  •  Serving on the working board of Southeast Asia Institute of Intercultural Studies in Thailand. School is now in session—I hope to be able to visit before this session is over at the end of May.
  • Developing a new ministry called House2Harvest serving simple churches throughout the USA helping reach the unreached. This will include writing and developing equipping tools. We are needing start up funds for this ministry as well as a good financial base to operate from.
  • Taking folks like you on mission trips to the unreached areas of Asia doing prayer journeys, research and mercy/humanitarian ministry.
  • Serving the neighborhood and region where we live, seeing simple churches planted in our immediate community (Strategic Church Network & Hampton Roads Simple Church Network).
  • I have been asked to serve in several capacities assisting the missions efforts to the unreached in which I will need to be funded in order to accomplish the work needed.

As you pray for us, also pray that our budget will be met, and that Don will be able to continue with work of mobilizing simple churches to reach the unreached. The graphic above shows you our monthly goal. This covers our living expenses and ministry expenses, but does not include special projects. We are excited about what the Lord is doing—serving Him is an adventure!

God Bless
